Doug Lia is a retired Associate Professor of Literacy and Elementary Education. His specialty has been Early Childhood education since beginning his career. Dr. Lia lives in a small town west of Chicago, Illinois. He is a father and the grandfather of five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. His passions include reading, gardening and sharing literature with young children. Reading to his children when they were young, and now to his grandchildren, has always brought him a special joy.
