Data Center Heat Rejection Systems Design Review Guide (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798190660395)

This guide provides a structured, discipline-specific framework for reviewing the design of heat rejection systems serving data center central plants. It is written for use during Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document review milestones, and as a field verification reference during commissioning.

Heat rejection is the point at which a data center's entire cooling architecture ultimately meets outdoor ambient conditions. A well-designed IT space or chilled water plant can still fail to hold its design temperatures if the heat rejection equipment is undersized, poorly sited, improperly controlled, or vulnerable to single points of failure. This guide treats heat rejection as a system-level discipline that spans mechanical, controls, water treatment, and site civil scopes.

Each technology chapter follows a consistent structure: design fundamentals, sizing and selection considerations, a design review checklist organized by RAG (Red/Amber/Green) risk rating, common failure modes, and commissioning verification points. The guide closes with a comparative weighted scoring matrix for technology selection, a consolidated FMEA/RPN risk register, and an appendix checklist suitable for printing and field use.
