What would you do to defend your freedom?

Following the emancipation of slaves in Texas, twenty-year-old plantation owner Samuel Dawson faces new challenges. Many Texans refuse to accept social and political equality for Blacks, and they resort to violence to return the state to white dominance. The thriving community that Samuel has built is threatened.

With freedom under attack by racists, Samuel must decide what he will endure to secure the rights of all Texans. Dawson Town is an inspiring tale of courage, determination, and the fight for justice in a time of great turmoil. For fans of stories of triumph over adversity, this book is a must-read.
