Dead in the Water: A Tegan Reese Mystery (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781966137030)

Park ranger Tegan Reese thought one murder was more than one person should reasonably be expected to handle. She was wrong.

When a routine aquacise class at Cornhusker Conditioning turns dangerous, Tegan is pulled into the chaos surrounding the local gym. At first, it looks like a simple equipment failure. Then gym owner JD Davidson is found dead in the pool, and suddenly everyone in Habinaw has a theory, a motive, or a suspiciously convenient excuse.

JD was charming when he wanted to be, ruthless when it suited him, and hiding more secrets than his fitness empire suggested. Between angry employees, nervous bookkeepers, bitter ex-friends, and gym members with plenty to say, Tegan has no shortage of suspects. But the deeper she digs, the more the case seems connected to an old disappearance that has haunted Habinaw for thirty years.

With Sheriff Carson watching her every move, Tracy Weston ready to investigate whether invited or not, and a loyal new dog named Bella at her side, Tegan must untangle the truth before the killer strikes again.

Because in Habinaw, some secrets don't stay buried.

And some rise to the surface.

Dead in the Water is a suspenseful cozy mystery featuring a determined park ranger sleuth, small-town secrets, a cold case, a loyal dog, and plenty of twists beneath the calm surface.
