The Guardians: DEATH by Amelia Waddell, a young adult fantasy novel.

"At the school of DEATH anything can happen. Kids fight demons. Break each other's bones in training...accidentally of course. Fires start all the time. Dreams and nightmares become a reality. I don't know why I didn't expect someone covered in blood to show up at the door."

In this enticing YA fantasy, Dawn Shadows considers herself to be a sassy rebel. She is one of the most powerful Guardians to ever exist, training at the school of DEATH. The pressure is on her to be more. Her reckless nature has gotten her in trouble more times than she can count. When a figure from her mom's past comes knocking on the door, her whole world turns upside down. With the help of her fellow Guardians, including her best friend Luke. They try to uncover what really happened to her mom, while exploring their unexplained magical connection. Sinister secrets are revealed and even more corrupt villains. Will Dawn be able to protect those she holds most dear or will the truth consume her?
