It is 2046, and the United States of America now finds itself in a very different place. No longer a free democratic republic, America is now ruled by an intrusive, oppressive government that monitors all aspects of a person's daily life. Out-of-control entitlement programs, hyperinflation, open borders, and excessive federal spending have all taken their toll on America, and its very existence lies on the edge of the abyss. Steve Banyon, a retired Army special operative who served in the Middle East, now works as a detective for a small city police department. As he sits in a bar waiting for the Presidential election results, he has little hope that his long-term friend, Frank T. Wilson, a staunch conservative, has any chance of being elected since the country has turned heavily progressive. Amazingly, despite national electronic voting, Wilson ekes out a win, and Washington, D.C. is stunned. Crazed media allegations of voter fraud permeate the airwaves, and sparking an attempt on the President-elect's life; violence erupts across the country. As anarchy spreads, Banyon's small city unexpectedly falls into chaos as well, and ensuing events lead the detective to discover that there is much more behind the insurrection than meets the eye. Since he soon finds himself in a horrific civil war surrounded by corruption, treason, and murder. A fast-moving, action-packed thriller, "Deep Rule - The Beginning" is the first book in a series that provides the reader a unique look into America's dark future.
