Has PSYCHIATRY Gone Mad?Many global experts believe that modern day Psychiatry is in need of change and more emphasis should be placed upon understanding the CAUSATION, not just treating the symptoms...There are many scientific journals about depression and the general public perception tends to revolve around the notion, that a visit to the local GP for diagnosis is the first port of call, followed by the prognosis of administering common treatment regimens. These, most often being hospitalization, electrotherapy and anti-depressant medication. However, this book also presents the experience and views of high-end internationally renowned psychiatry experts; whom, are expressing their concerns about the ever-present issues surrounding misdiagnosis, pill-popping regimens, and a lack of time spent listening or trying to understand the psycho-social aspect of patients. They are also suggesting that its time for change in Psychiatry prognosis. Therefore, 'Depression - Heal Yourself Naturally' sets out to provide numerous peer-reviewed and tested complimentary and natural medicine therapies, that do just as good a job as these conventional western-medicine methods. Author Stevie White provides various therapies that encourage depression patients to learn 'how they think' and to 'talk, and talk often'. He also points out the importance of 'gut health' and its association with serotonin (e.g. the happy-hormone), before explaining the importance of 'stress prevention'. Various mind-body-spirit interventions are discussed; also, including the importance of 'recreation' and 'relaxation' to the power of 'meditation' and various 'spirituality' practices to help through the natural healing process and to 'self-heal' through complimentary natural alternative therapies.
