He was born in Brazil and raised in South Florida where he attended the University of Miami for his undergraduate degree. He subsequently attended the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his internship and residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His interests include chronic pruritus, psychodermatology/dysesthesia, skin of color, skin cancer, and inflammatory dermatoses.
