This is Shelley Douthett's first book, in case it isn't obvious. She decided to write short stories because she has a short attention span. It's probably because she moved a lot when she was younger, thirty times by the time she was thirty years old. She is much older now and has only moved four times since, all in the same town. This vagabond life led her to Townsend, Montana where she has lived for the past 28 years and counting. She has decided this is her home until forever. She retired from the USDA Forest Service after 33 years having realized in 2011 that life is short and she wanted to travel and explore with her furry sidekicks and trailer. Corgis are her dog of choice these days and she tries to keep the household population at two. Currently, Maizy and Tank, take up most of the bed in the house and trailer. The kitties, Little Zoe and Joseph, take up the rest of the bed. Shelley is a contortionist sleeper. She has one daughter, Megan who put her through 18.5 hours of labor and 2 stepchildren, Eric and Sally. All of them are labors of love. She also has 3 grandchildren who are perfect in every way that matters. Retirement hobbies include whitewater rafting, hiking, camping off the grid, and learning new things like geology and history.
