Allan "Al" Mettner is a dog lover, Humane Society volunteer, and an elder at his Bible-based church. In addition to publishing yearly reviews for his church, he has also written a number of articles for his local newspaper. He is a CERT first responder and registered Red Cross volunteer.

Mettner owns two homes with his brother Jim-one, in the Bradshaw Mountains, and the other at Lake Chapalla, Mexico. Together, Al and Jim have devoted their lives to God and caring for the dogs they have raised together.
