Prior to DBC&M, Kurt was Executive Director and Executive Creative Director for what was then dubbed Ogilvy & Mather Direct, Kuala Lumpur (now OgilvyOne). He joined them after discovering the tropical pleasures of Malaysia during his 2-year stint in Hong Kong as a regional creative resource for O&M Direct. Kurt began his decade-long tenure with O&M in their L.A. office. He had been transported there from his home-state of Minnesota, where he was a copywriter and direct marketing specialist for Colle & McVoy Advertising in Minneapolis. Direct marketing experience ahead of that includes ABC Publishing (a former division of the U.S. national television network) and Fingerhut, one of the largest direct mail companies in the world. In addition to being a regular speaker, lecturer and long-time direct marketing columnist for a Malaysian trade publication called ADOI magazine, Kurt has also been known to strut his stuff on Malaysian stage and small screen.
