Roberta M. Sands was born on the Island of New Providence, but grew up in the settlement of Rock Sound on the Island of Eleuthera, Bahamas. She attended Rock Sound Primary and went on to Preston H. Albury High School where she graduated with honours at the age of 16. While attending both schools she was taught the value and importance of understanding the national symbols and taking pride in her home, The Commonwealth of The Bahamas. This, along with her love and continued quest for knowledge and higher learning lead her to pursue a career in education. It has always been her dream to work with children in order to lay a firm foundation on which a child's life experiences will be based. Her love for children and passion for teaching propels her to become the most effective educator she can be, and to make a difference in the lives of students in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. This book was created while she was pursuing a Bachelor of Education degree, with an option in Early Childhood Education at The College of The Bahamas in Nassau, Bahamas. Her goal is to create a series of educational books that will impact the citizens of The Bahamas positively so that they may exude pride and be able to confidently share the knowledge about their beloved Bahamas.
