I was born in the Sirhowy Valley and brought up by my grandparents. It is because of their caring and love that I am the person I am today. My father was Scottish and my mother Welsh. I was married in 1959 to a wonderful man and we had seven children together. Unfortunately we lost two babies, but we still have five wonderful, well adapted grown up children. We both farmed for a long time and thoroughly enjoyed it. It gave us the opportunity to meet some wonderful people who we still see today. We have grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom are very special in their own way. Our daughters are a credit to themselves raising their own families and other families, our sons are amazing individuals with excellent talents. I have worked at the CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau) in Bargoed and their outreaches. I made many friends while in the CAB and still see them from time to time. I have always wanted to write, but as you can see my life has been very full, and still is. I think that now is the right time for this novel to be put into words. Within the novel there is a bit of me, something of my daughters and sons, and my husband. My husband has always been enthusiastic about writing and has always supported me in any writing that I have done. Without his guidance I would have given up many times along the way. My novel did take more time than I thought and it brought back some provoking thoughts which are personal to me. I am now, therefore, allowing these thoughts and feelings to have a wider audience. As always life has some strange twists and turns...................
