The purpose of this study was to find out why wives remained with their unfaithful husbands, and what types of skills they used to resolve the conflict associated with infidelity. I interviewed fifteen married women, fourteen of whom were Christians and one from another religious organization. Initially, the women were mainly reluctant to reveal information about their situation because of the humiliation, shame, and embarrassment of acknowledging that their husbands had violated the marital trust and the expectations they had for their marriage.
