Double-wide Cityside: A Story of An Appalachian (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798355003166)

A dramatic stage play begging to be written as a screenplay is about a three-generation family in rural West Virginia living in a 25 mph town, and their kin who moved on to Baltimore. Henry's dad is in jail and his best 'bud', Pappy, is 80-something years old. Both commiserate being stuck of West Virginia with ideas to get out. Meanwhile Pappy lives on with his daughter, Belle -who has motivations of her own and her sycophantic husband, Frank. Henry soon gets an unwelcomed surprise from his 16 year old girl friend, and kin folk in Baltimore are coming out to celebrate Pappy's birthday. Henry's own shocker has the family up in arms. John Jakes, some might call white trash lives with Marty and her two out-of-control kids. And then there's Aunt Agnes a blind-sighted evangelical Christian who gets really wound up when Preacher of the Grail Christian Church speaks. Gather up these folks for Pappy's 85th birthday...and, well there'll be some fireworks and not so kind words that need to be said. It aint goin' be pretty but, as we say, "it's all good".
