Dragon's Bane 2: The Cult of Loki (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781610011617)

Heroes are born in the unlikeliest of hearts. Freya Haraldsdottir, a skilled huntress, and Ivar Torfinnson, a reluctant dragonslayer, never asked for their destinies. After vanquishing the dragon terrorizing their village, they longed to escape the burden of heroism and to seek solace in a peaceful life together.

But fate had other plans.

Vicious forces, led by the malevolent sorcerer Skulder of the Cult of Loki, seek to claim Ivar's magical Dragon's Bane Sword and unleash the spirit of the monster Grendel from the depths of Helheim. A relentless army razes their village, leaving Ivar, Freya, and the shattered survivors no choice but to flee to the treacherous ice mountains.

Plagued by self-doubt, yet compelled to fight, Ivar and Freya set forth on a quest for aid. They seek the guidance of the wise High Priest of Thor and the stalwart Haldor, commander of the Huscarls. Together, they rally the Dvergen Dwarves, the ethereal Ljosalfar Light Elves, the indomitable Viking leader Erik the Red, and the legendary Jomsviking commander, Harald Hardrada. United against Skulder's dark forces, they make their stand within the fortified walls of a castle. And as they defend their sanctuary from Skulder's unholy enchantments and the Army of Loki, the reluctant heroes embark on a perilous journey into the realm of the dead. Their mission: to penetrate Skulder's fortress, confront the sorcerer, and prevent the resurrection of Grendel's body.

In the crucible of adversity, Ivar and Freya discover that true heroism is not just about being the strongest or the bravest. It is about having the courage to face your own fears, to rely on your allies, and to fight for what is right.
