Mr. Trip Barthel has a M.A. in Conflict Resolution and was an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada and at the National Judicial College (Nevada, USA). He has worked in Shanghai since February 2008 at the Tongji University (Jiao Tong Law School) and the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. He is currently co-authoring a text-book on mediation with a Shanghai law professor. Mr. Barthel has trained over 2,000 people from different countries: India, Malaysia, Russia, Eastern Europe, and also judges from over 30 different countries in areas of conflict resolution and mediation skills, emotional intelligence, ethics, team-building, strategic planning and cross cultural communication. He published a number of articles in areas of Reciprocal Negotiation, Emotional Intelligence in Conflict Resolution, Mediating to Learning Styles, as well as a mediation joke book. He frequently presented at conferences organized by the Association for Conflict Resolution, American Bar Association, and National Conference on Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution. Mr. Barthel enjoys conducting imaginative and interactive teaching and training experiences at conferences, schools and around the world. He is currently conducting a program based on his recent book called "Transforming Conflict into Consensus".
