Joanie Higgs is a life-long seeker, scholar, and teacher whose spiritual compass was set in her teens when the Beatles' guru came to town. After going the distance in Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation movement, she went on to investigate other paths to inner peace and self-realization. Joanie also spent twenty-three years in the fashion business, followed by seven years homeschooling her daughter. In her 50s she went to university, obtained a Bachelor and Master of Arts, and was awarded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada for her work in reproductive medical ethics. Now as before, she finds her greatest fulfillment in teaching and coaching others to come home to themselves. She lives in her rustic cottage on British Columbia's Sunshine Coast.
