Elton Swain's Diary of a (not so) Dull Man: His favourite colour is magnolia, and he doesn't care who knows it! (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798286122882)

ANYONE WHO ENJOYS READING OTHER people's secret diaries will literally lap this up. Novelist Neil Watson's fourth book is like nothing he's ever written before.

This time he creates an alter ego called Elton Swain, who Watson is at pains to describe as, "definitely nothing like me!" Describing the writing process on this one he says: "Getting inside the head of Elton Swain wasn't difficult, I just pretended to be him. But it almost took over my life."

Elton Swain is no ordinary man. He turns the dull things in life into possibly the richest and most compellingly hilarious book you'll read this year. His love life, his culinary prowess, his canny ability to see the world differently, are all exposed in the pages of the two diaries he started writing and finished writing abruptly half way through the year.

So, enter the world of Elton Swain and enjoy his not so ordinary adventures. Marvel at his love of magnolia paint, Scalextric, Fiona Bruce, writing complaining letters, Dean Friedman, inventing really useful things and writing the diaries that will no doubt become the international best-seller of 2026.
