Mel is also a jazz musician and singer. Emily Saw a Door, his first children's book, received Israel's prestigious Dvora Omer Award for Excellence in Children's Literature. Orit Magia has written and illustrated several children's books, all of which have received much praise from both critics and audiences. She is also an industrial designer and co-founder of Shulab, an international design studio that collaborates with leading design companies in Europe including: Ligne Roset, Luce Plan and KDLN. Her works have been widely published and featured in various international exhibitions, including Salone Del Mobile in Milan, the Stockholm Furniture Fair (where she won the first prize greenhouse award), IMM Cologne, and more. Orit graduated from the prestigious BEZALEL ACADEMY OF ART AND DESIGN, the top design institute in Israel, and she applies her multiple talents to visual storytelling, industrial design, and graphic design.
