Emp: The Rogue Warrior: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Thriller (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798188609023)

Nine days after an EMP turns America dark, Oliver Merchant and the woman he loves are ambushed on a lonely county road by a gang calling themselves The Pirates. Their leader, Alexander Kitchen, holds Oliver down and carves his face beyond recognition with a boning knife. Then he puts a .45 through Oliver's gut and leaves him in a farmyard to die slow.

Oliver doesn't die.

Alone, gut-shot, and half-blind, he sews his own face together with fishing line and drags himself back from the edge. He kills his first Pirate with a sharpened rock while the man sleeps. He takes the dead man's skull mask, his 1911, his rifle. And he starts a list.

What follows is a brutal seven-month hunt across a dead country. Oliver will burn a rail yard to the ground, free children from a chain-link pen, and cut his way through The Pirates one man at a time. Along the way he'll find a widow and her eight-year-old daughter, and discover that having something left to lose is the most dangerous thing of all.

But Kitchen isn't building a gang. He's building an empire. And the final reckoning is coming on a train doing thirty-five miles an hour, with a knife, in the dark.
