Encourage Others: Support and Strengthen Fellow Believers (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781514212493)

Encourage Others provides a detailed biblical definition of the spiritual gift of exhortation or encouragement - an often misunderstood ability. Too many consider it a "lightweight" spiritual gift that meekly tries to say sweet and nice things in order to give momentary or temporary help. Far from it! This gift is a "heavyweight" that delves into some of the most serious and heartrending problems Christians can face, problems such as: grief, loneliness, sickness (both physical and emotional), moral issues, temptation and worldliness. The person who exercises this gift must be well equipped in the Word of God, must have the Holy Spirit's burden for others, and must have the ability to persuade fellow believers of the truth. Encourage Others challenges you to study this powerful gift and to put it into practice toward your friends and loved ones in the Church. Encourage Others not only defines and applies this gift but also outlines a general pattern for discovering any spiritual gift. Make yourself more valuable to others and to the church family by understanding and developing this gift in your life.
