Enigma is a short allegorical story that speaks of a certain type of insanity that affects the minds of those who, believing that they, and they alone, are capable of revealing the truth - the sole truth - engage in actions that lead humanity to the brink of the abyss. And the book contains a message that this does not have to be so and what we need to do is to acquire the knowledge, the sophistication and the wisdom to reap the benefits from religion and science without these things destroying us.
