She was formerly director of UGA's Environmental Ethics Certificate Program and associate director of the Dean Rusk International Law Center. She is the editor of several books, including Altamaha: A River and Its Keeper (Georgia), Bartram's Living Legacy: The Travels and the Nature of the South, and Values at Sea: Ethics for the Marine Environment (Georgia).
