Lucius Apuleius, an adherent of Plato's wisdom and the ancient mystery schools, authored "Eros and Psyche" nearly two millennia ago. Mr. Apuleius takes the wisdom of Plato and writes the story of Cupid and Psyche; aka Eros and Psyche in the middle of his book, The Golden Ass, originally known as The Metamorphoses of Apuleius. It is the only Latin piece of literature to survive in its entirety. The Golden Ass is written in Latin, but Mr. Apuleius apologizes for it should have been written in Greek. Mr. Apuleius uses the Roman version of the Gods and Goddesses.
Our western world is familiar with the Roman Goddess of Love-Venus as opposed to the Greek-Aphrodite, and the Roman God of Love- Cupid instead of the Greek-Eros. However, Eros and Cupid are worlds apart and to reach Eros is an extremely high aim, for it is an exalted bond.
Apuleius delved into the understanding of the soul's journey to divine union, and to have that reflection mirrored back by spiritual love connections. "Eros and Psyche" symbolize sublime celestial bonds. Psyche must travel on the road less traveled on, so she can reunite with Eros, her long-lost supernal mate.
I ask you-do you have the bravery to step into the mystery and venture where few dare to tread?
If so, this book will offer you the compass and the keys for the journey ahead.
