The fleet of the New Empire and its allies is stationed in the Sagitan sector. The war between the Mylanterians and the Greigg has ended. Since the northern planetary city has sustained heavy damage and the Curia's residence lies in ruins, Major Travis is considering inviting government representatives from both races to the parliamentary center at the Poseidon Stations.

Meanwhile, disturbing information is reaching the public in the U.S. Secret experiments on humans with special abilities were to be optimized through breeding programs under the direction of the NSA. President Rushmore denies any knowledge of this and orders a search for those responsible. The NSA decides to terminate the secret research and liquidate the subjects. Major Dreyer informs Captain Hunter.

The Network Thinkers, the military arm of the Worgass, are constructing the framework for a controllable wormhole in the Andromeda Galaxy. The construction data originated from a technologically advanced race that refused to submit to the Worgass. The Worgass fleet showed no mercy. They attacked the Technotrieden' planet and killed all its inhabitants.

Due to a malfunction in the wormhole facility, caused by an uncontrolled influx of energy, a fleet of Worgass-Tychanians was sucked into the artificial wormhole by a powerful pull. Their odyssey ended far away in the neighboring galaxy, within the territory of the New Empire.
