Essays from a Fed-Up Middle Aged, Middle Class American (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781453640463)

Straight out of today's headlines, Strum's book of essays, nail down, in print, what Americans are feeling today. Politically Correct Nonsense, Criminal-Driven Judicial Systems, Backstairs Earmarks, "Let's get these problems out in the open," says author Andy Strum. During a television episode of Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," there is an argument and gravy is accidentally spilled on Larry. Larry's mother-in-law exclaims, "Somebody get a sponge!" Larry responds, "Why don't you get a sponge?" This funny verbal exchange speaks volumes about our society. Somebody else do something we should be doing ourselves. Which is exactly why Andy Strum wrote Essays from a Fed-up, Middle Aged, Middle Class American - to aid in correcting America's sorry state of affairs. Take Back Control of Your Own Destiny - Now. When did adding a million dollar earmark equate to 'a good idea?' For example, Strum writes, Congress has a way of using percentages instead of real dollar figures to fool the public. 2008 earmarks accounted for 1/2% of the total Federal Budget. According to politicians that percentage 'doesn't sound too bad.' But 1/2% actually equaled $16.5 Billion dollars: Over 1.5 million families could have saved $10,000 each on their taxes if not for those 'little' earmarks. Government misspends your money. Sin. The very word conjures up multiple, complex images. Now add taxes and you get a volatile combination sure to create havoc in anyone's life, no less a life over controlled by Government. And why does Government continue on the path of believing they know what's best for the public? Can it be changed? Take Back Control of Your Own Destiny - Now. Do you realize that terrorists use the illegal drug trade - a $300 billion a year industry - to fuel their causes? Terrorists steal your freedom. Our judicial system bends over backwards for the criminal. No more - It's time for the punishment to wreck havoc on the crime. Criminals negate your rights. If you feel a strong need for real change in America, then change has to begin with you. Reading Strum's book will change your thinking, your intentions, your actions.
