Glenn D. Davis was born in Bryan, Texas in 1946 and now lives in Conroe, Texas. He spent four decades in Japan as a student, lecturer, journalist and author. Twenty five of those years were at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan where he reported for American and Japanese publications. Davis was the Editor of Tokyo Journal, Editor-in-chief of The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan Journal and Bureau Chief for United Press International. He is the author of An Occupation without Troops (1996), which was translated into Japanese and published first by Shinchosha (1996) and then by Kodansha (2003). On the local level, Davis published How We Lived in Wellborn before Television (2010) and College Station (2011). Since returning to the United States in 2006, he has lectured at Rice University in Houston, Texas A&M University in College Station and Blinn College (currently) in Bryan. Glenn is still experiencing reverse culture shock.
