Simona Troilo is Associate Professor of Contemporary History at the University of L'Aquila. She holds a PhD from the European University Institute (Florence) and is the author of numerous articles on archaeology and imperialism; the construction of "Otherness" through the remains of the past; the relationship between materiality, narrativity and visuality; the ideological use of colonial antiquities by Italian fascism; the restitution of archaeological finds to former colonies by the Italian Republic.
