Doris Pyrant White is a graduate of Elon University and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science Degree in Reading, K-12, from North Carolina A and T State University. She is a native of Caswell County, North Carolina and taught school in the Caswell County School System for 34 years. Mrs. White taught elementary school and later middle school language arts and social studies. She retired from teaching in 2011. In 2014, while going through chemotherapy and radiation for colorectal cancer, Fancy Miss Pig, came to the author in a dream. The following morning she recorded the story never expecting to publish it. Two years later, her husband introduced her to a young and talented artist by the name of Hunter Murray. Hunter agreed to illustrate the book, making it possible for publication. Mrs. White enjoys photography, writing, and spending time with her grandsons. She and her husband, Ricky, temporarily reside in Danville, Virginia and plan on relocating to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in mid 2017. She can be contacted by email at doriswht5@gmail.com
