She discovered her special gift as a vocalist at an early age. Her record "I Want a Man Like That" made it to the top of the charts in St. Louis in the mid-1960s. In the midst of pursuing her music career and raising 5 children as a single parent, she had another talent & passion for poetry that prompted this collection of poems from over several decades of life experiences.
