I picked up a book. Yet another book; and another and the cycle went on and on. I realized these books were written by almost perfect people who led "virtually sinless lives". I wanted to be spoken to in the most bizarre manner and I needed reassurances that even if I've been beat down black and blue and the elastic rope that held my life together had slackened considerably, I could get back up again and keep fighting. I wanted a book where all kinds of pain would be listed and how to overcome them without leaving a mess of the situation. I stumbled upon few books, home and abroad and I really appreciate those authors but yet I needed something deeper so I had to focus on the cross. I am humbled by all the experiences I've had in this life. I was once upon a time, angry at God for all my misfortunes, losses, mistakes, and carelessness, lack of peace or love and so on. I have, these couple of years, come to realize that all were in a bid to prepare me for such a time as this.The most amazing experience in the Christian faith is the ability to get back up again and keep fighting. To be honest with you, I had a very shattered life. Me! Once upon a time a principled top chic in my game. A no-nonsense climber and an amazing refuter of injustice dropped so low to becoming a weakling, a worrier and a girl of many doubts. A girl friend said; "Vivien, unlike you, I'm a go-getter". I couldn't believe my nostrils! It flared monstrously! How could I have slackened so much that even a not so intimate friend would mention my short-comings? It made me wonder how much the blind could see.This book is about reaching into the foremost part of the reader's soul, shutting it up from the ravaging thoughts of fear and failure and gathering enough chutzpah into your spirit to enable you build momentum again and soar high with wings as eagle. Like my momma did say, "whatever you believe in would be tested". So get ready to fight! And please, don't slack.
