ABOUT THE BOOK
After landing safely in Scarlett Bay for a colleague vacation, a twist of fate separates Sloan and her resort. When she awakens in an unfamiliar room with a deep voice speaking to her from behind a screen, her heart nearly pounds from her chest, but before long, she learns that the elusive man is hiding secrets she can't imagine.

Back in St. Anne's Landing, the surgeon she loves learns of her failure to check into the Las Palmeras resort and quickly charters a private jet to Scarlett Bay. Upon reaching the resort, Rob receives a staff member's recommendation to hire the crusty, larger-than-life Detective Delroy, a former bodybuilder and ex-police officer, to help him locate Sloan. 1. [Sloan] dug her nails into the earth at her sides and sifted warm sand through her fingers. "Somebody. Help me," she cried.

The world spun and cramps seized her abdomen as she raised her head. She braced her belly to ease the dry heaves, but the lack of saliva on her parched, swollen tongue made spitting anything, especially the grit coating her mouth, impossible. She needed water, but first, she had to stand and find higher ground.

Beyond her foot, a white object billowed on the water. Was it hers? She patted her body and found nothing missing except for her leg. Her leg? Shrieks sliced the air as panic flooded her veins.
