Finding Dad (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781517035969)

It's not easy starting a new career. It's further complicated when the man you turn to for advice, your father, is suffering from dementia leaving his short term memory as crippled as some of the combat planes he once piloted. In the novel, FINDING DAD, we follow the author as he recounts his initial days and the years that follow in his chosen profession. One strange work episode after another is followed by another lesson from his knowledgeable but sick father. In time, it becomes clear that the patients the author is dealing with in his professional life mirror that of his own father. From Pearl Harbor to present day this book covers the heroic deeds of our fathers during war times, the crazed actions of an unstable boss and the inspiring last days of some of our most cherished senior citizens. The author learns that the lives of our nation's seniors are worth talking about and the lessons they can share are worth hearing. They lived amazing lives and they have much to teach us - if we will only listen.
