Fire Doors: The No-Nonsense Guide (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798247682998)

When is a fire door not a fire door?
When it's been "fixed" with the wrong parts, wedged open, trimmed too far, or left with gaps, seals and ironmongery that no longer match the doorset evidence.

Fire Doors: The No-Nonsense Guide is a practical UK guide for responsible persons, landlords, tenants and managers who need clear answers - without sales talk, scare stories or nonsense.

You'll learn how to:

• Understand the basics of what fire doors are meant to do

• Run sensible in-house checks (without pretending you're a fire door inspector)

• Spot common defects and what they usually mean

• Record evidence properly (so you can prove what's been checked and fixed)

• Brief contractors and avoid overpaying for unjustified "replace everything" programmes

INSIDE:

• What to type into a search engine (so you can sanity-check claims fast)

• Defects explained in plain English

• Checklists and a quick-start 15-minute check routine

This guide is supporting information only. Always verify requirements against the doorset evidence, manufacturer guidance and competent advice where needed.
