First Night In Vegas (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798235702981)

First Night in Vegas is not a story about a city-it is a descent into illusion, identity, and the fragile architecture of human experience.

Through a haunting collection of long-form poems, Samuel Ludke constructs a world where neon lights blur into memory, where glass houses shatter under the weight of truth, and where the sound of existence itself hums just beneath the surface of reality. Vegas becomes more than a place-it becomes a living metaphor for excess, illusion, desire, and the quiet unraveling that follows.

These poems explore the invisible forces shaping our lives: the weight of what never happened, the rooms that remember us long after we've left, the identities we stack until they collapse, and the moments where reality feels just slightly misaligned. Love becomes performance, memory becomes unstable, and even God is stripped of form and certainty.

At its core, this book captures a single idea: the moment when everything peaks-and begins to fall apart.

Dark, introspective, and emotionally charged, First Night in Vegas invites readers into a dreamlike landscape where nothing is fully stable, and everything is deeply felt. Each poem builds on the last, creating a layered experience that lingers long after the final page.

This is a book for those who have ever felt the quiet pressure of existence, the pull of something just beyond understanding, and the strange beauty found in unraveling.

Welcome to Vegas.
