Michelle was born in 1939 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has lived most of her life in Toronto, although in the 1960s she spent eight years travelling parts of Europe and one year in California, USA. In 2000 she moved from Toronto north to the wilds of Central Ontario and the town of Coldwater. She lives in a small winterized cottage on two acres of rocks, trees, bugs and bears, 100 metres from Lake Otter where she has a dock and a canoe. She is often seen swimming in the lake or canoeing around the gentle waters in summer or cross country skiing or skating across the ice in winter. She shares her life with three dogs, Sara, Nikkita and Zodi, and three cats, Casey Jones, Toby2 and Boots, and whatever other wild creatures are in need of company. When weather permits she sits outside on her deck, laptop at the ready and adds copy to a new novel or a magazine article in company of her cats or dogs and numerous birds and other furry critters stealing bird seed from her bird feeders. Since her early teen years she has had many magazine articles published on a variety of topics, but only recently has she taken the craft of writing more seriously. Five Cats, One Dog, A Motorcycle and a Lady in a Hot PInk Jacket is Michelle's seventh book to be published, her second book for children. Michelle is also a talented nature photographer. Most of the images in this book are her photographs with help from a basic graphics computer program and lots of imagination.
