Fizzle & Pip: Books 1-3 Collection: Three Complete Dragon Adventures for Kids Ages 7-9 (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798190025019)

Three complete Fizzle the Dragon adventures. One book.

Looking for a gift a 7, 8 or 9 year old will actually finish? Meet Fizzle, a young dragon whose fire is completely, hilariously broken. Every dragon on Mount Sizzle breathes flame. Fizzle breathes bubbles. Or butterflies. Or confetti. Or, on a really bad day, a toot.

This collection puts the first three books of the Fizzle & Pip series together in one paperback:

1. The Big Fire Fail - A freak frost storm freezes the whole village solid, and the mighty fire-breathers only make it worse. The one dragon whose fire has never worked right may be the only one who can save the day.
2. The Cave of Surprises - Deep in the forbidden caves, Fizzle and his best friend Pip find Lumin, a shy dragon who breathes glowing light instead of fire and has been hiding for years.
3. The Big Welcome - A sky full of strangers blows into the village, breathing wind and frost and mist, and they have come looking for the legendary "wrong-fire" dragon.

Why it works as a gift:

• Funny first. Silly sound effects, dragon disasters and laugh-out-loud trouble, for kids who would rather giggle than read.
• Dyslexia-friendly design. A clean, easy-to-read font, short lines, short chapters and plenty of white space, so a page never looks like a wall of words.
• Pictures in every chapter. Original black-and-white illustrations keep newly independent readers turning pages.
• Three books, one spine. The whole series so far in a single volume - no waiting for the next one, nothing to lose out of a box, and one thing to wrap.
• A message grown-ups like too. The thing that makes you different can turn out to be the best thing about you.

Just right for: newly independent readers in grades 2 and 3, reluctant readers who insist they do not like books, kids with dyslexia, bedtime read-alouds with a younger brother or sister, and any bookshelf that could use more dragons.
