Following Christ, Not Feelings: Finding Truth in a World of Emotion (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798248180486)

"If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me." - Luke 9:23

In an age when Christianity is often reduced to personal feelings, emotional experiences, and self-help advice, Following Christ, Not Feelings calls believers back to biblical discipleship rooted in truth, obedience, and perseverance.

Drawing directly from Scripture, John Bailey challenges the modern tendency to equate spiritual maturity with emotional intensity. Instead, this book presents the biblical pattern of following Christ through disciplined obedience, faithfulness in ordinary life, and endurance through suffering and spiritual dryness.

This book addresses questions many believers quietly ask:

• Why does my faith feel shallow despite constant Christian activity?
• What does real discipleship look like beyond emotional highs?
• How do I follow Christ faithfully when feelings fade?

Readers will be guided through:

• The true cost of following Christ
• The role of Scripture, prayer, and the local church in spiritual growth
• Obedience as an essential discipline, not an optional extra
• Persevering through dry seasons without chasing emotional experiences
• Living out discipleship in work, family, and everyday life
• Making disciples who are grounded in truth, not trends

Written for individual believers, small groups, and church discipleship settings, Following Christ, Not Feelings offers a clear, pastoral call to a faith shaped by God's Word rather than personal emotion.

This is a book for Christians who want depth instead of hype, faithfulness instead of flashes of inspiration, and Christ at the center of their lives.
