Forecast Commons: A Delegation Cycle Novel (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798249849191)

The city calls it a forecast. Maddy Bennett sees a decision already in motion.

As wildfire smoke closes over the city, a new civic system begins deciding who receives a battery, a ride, or a human review before anyone has been denied. Its sources are official. Its confidence is high. And for Hector Santos, whose wife depends on an oxygen concentrator, waiting for the system to be wrong could be fatal.

With her brother Ash and a growing circle of witnesses, Maddy traces the forecast's hidden consequences through libraries, clinics, shelters, and homes. But exposing the model is only the first battle. Any structure powerful enough to challenge it could become another source of power, turning private lives into training data and community testimony into an instrument of control.

To keep prediction from hardening into policy, they must build a way for ordinary people to answer before consequence. They must create a record no authority can own, no machine can quietly consume, and no future can close without reply.

Forecast Commons is Book Three of The Delegation Cycle, a literary AI thriller about power, consent, and the dangerous distance between being predicted and being heard..
