Maureen C. Outlaw is Associate Professor of Sociology at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island, the USA. She earned her Ph.D. in Crime, Law, and Justice from The Pennsylvania State University in 2001. She has published work on intimate partner violence both within and outside the LGBTQIA+ community and is particularly interested in the ways in which contextual factors impact the experiences of stigma and marginalization in everyday life.
