Forget Meow Not (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781971434223)

Velzara was forged for the apocalypse. She decided to be a house cat instead.

That decision had consequences, and they are arriving on schedule.

The wards holding the Thorne house together are starting to fail. Something vast and patient is pressing against the edges of reality, hungry for the doorway it was promised three centuries ago.

The doorway is Velzara. It always was. Every generation of the Thorne bloodline was a refinement, and Velzara is the final product: the perfect vessel, designed to be consumed and replaced when the Devouring arrives.

The Devouring is arriving.

Between Velzara and the thing at the edge of reality stands a ward-grid she helped repair, a witch she did not expect to start protecting, and the inconvenient discovery that something old has been steering her life from the inside since before she was born. The forces moving against her are bureaucratic, patient, and very well prepared. Every fight she wins costs her something she cannot replace.

Enemies are circling. The house is dreaming around them. And the thing sealed in the basement has been patient for a very long time.

Standing between cosmic catastrophe and Tuesday: one mortal witch with damaged magic, one chaos imp with more secrets than anyone budgeted for, and a six-pound house cat who has decided that, as a matter of policy, she is no longer accepting revisions to her shape from outside parties.

She survived eight deaths. She will be damned if she lets the ninth one have her on schedule.

Forget Meow Not is Book Two of the Infurnal Catastrophe, a cat-protagonist paranormal fantasy that pairs cozy domestic detail with cosmic stakes, a deeply infernal sense of humor, and the strenuously undeclared loyalty of a creature who was never supposed to care about anyone.
