Bill Lemmer was born into an America at war in the 1940s and raised during the seminal decade of the Civil Rights Movement. He received a Wall Street Journal Scholarship during the Vietnam War years of the 1960s and began a career in journalism before leaving his native land for England. Freedom from Trauma in America is a novelistic expression of an America which lost its heart, causing mayhem in everyday life; one aspiring character in the book describes this as like being: "...a little one in the greater scheme of things, baying for a mother's wisdom and a student who struggles to be free in a bestial world. Scattered between are fragments of whatever it takes to be a writer, ranging from metaphysical poet to auto-biographer to humorist." Dr. Lemmer lives with his family in the UK. He is the author of Freedom from Trauma in Dementia.
