Robert Medina was born in Leavenworth, Kansas and moved with his family to New Orleans, Louisiana at a very young age. With the exception of his time in the service of the U. S. Navy, he has spent most of his life in the Big Easy.

"The diverse cultures, foods, music, religions and unusual local characters makes it a wonderful melting pot from which to draw inspiration in any field of art. It is like living in a very large small town. I believe everyone should experience New Orleans at least once in his or her lifetime. But be warned, you may never want to leave!"

Upon his return from military duty, he graduated from Delgado College and spent the next 24 years as a New Orleans firefighter. He recently retired from the department due to an on duty injury. He now resides in the New Orleans area with his wife Lori where he continues with his writing.
