FROM A DUCK BLIND ON CADDO TOOINTRODUCTIONThis book, as well as From A Duck Blind On Caddo, is dedicated to my wife Anita, my daughter Autumn, and my son Trent. There are a couple of little angels, Phoenix and Scarlett, my beautiful granddaughters, that I also want to include. As in the first book these stories are from my heart and are considered by some as my finest work. Among my close friends, these are the ones that are most highly cherished. They are my humble offerings and are not intended to be any more than that. The settings of the stories were fabulous; my lack of knowledge, ability, and expression could not do them justice.Gosh, the stories were fun when living them and I hope all of you enjoy them as much as I do in sharing them with you now. I look back and wonder where in the world I got all the energy to pursue my dreams. The recipes are a collection of outstanding recipes that I gathered from all over the country, and they have already been scrutinized by some of the best connoisseurs a person could have ever been blessed to "run" with. There has always been an interest in recipes and cookbooks for me. Maybe it was instilled from growing up around wonderful cooks. To this day, it is amazing to pick up a beautiful cookbook and start thumbing through it, get to the end and think back that there was not one recipe in the whole book that appeared to be worth trying. Have you ever done the same?If the truth be known, this collection of recipes is far more valuable than the stories.Enjoy the reading and the cooking, and may God continue to bless us all.

They will be available May-June 2017. The third book is scheduled for release in August 2017. They are entitled: From a Duck Blind on Caddo, From a Duck Blind on Caddo Too And From a Duck Blind on Caddo Also The first two books comprise a collection of short stories and delicious cooking recipes that have been garnered from friends and gathered from a lifetime of hunting and fishing experiences. Exceptional stories, exceptional people, and exceptional recipes are the ones that made it into print. Whether it be a wonderful dish from the Oklahoma Panhandle or a duck hunting story from an oxbow slough along the Sulphur River, it was my intention to thoroughly entice you into trying it. There is no experience like actually being there. My modest offerings are just that and are not intended to be any more. The people portrayed in my stories are the country people, the ranch people, the farm people, the common people, the "salt of the earth": there are none any better. The settings for these stories were most wonderful, and the explanations are only limited by my lack of skill in presenting them to you as such. My desire is for the reader to enjoy them half as much as they were enjoyed, living them. I am a Christian, American patriot, short story writer, hunter, big bass fisherman/guide, husband, father, retired school administrator, agriculture teacher, agronomist, philosopher, naturalist, romanticist, and most importantly, Pop-Pop to my darling granddaughters, Phoenix and Scarlett.
