From Home to Home: A Narrowboat Journey Across The Pennines (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798395891631)

A father and son take a narrowboat trip from Lancaster to Sheffield - a journey of 175 miles and 180 locks - and along the way have numerous adventures and note the various points of interest both by the canal and incidental to it. A story about love and reconnection is told gently amid the numerous digressions that pepper this account, from witches and words to places and philosophy. As the journey unfolds so does the relationship between father and son until, in due course of time, they arrive in Sheffield where, the son is going on to the next phase of his life at university. The boat is his home.
