As an engineer turned author, Brian Shell has published numerous books, but as a professor of electrical and mechanical engineering, he was encouraged to create a college course and its accompanying textbook. He realized that "The Journey of the Engineer" was an area no university taught... until now. He is also an accomplished musician and artist who shares his insights of all the aspects of his life for one and all to learn from. Brian received his bachelor's degree from Lawrence Technological University and his master's degree from the University of Michigan... both in electrical engineering. He has studied and performed research at Stanford, UCLA, USC, San Diego State University, Eastern Illinois University, and also at the University of Michigan's Dearborn campus too. Further, he published an IEEE journal paper after a summer of research at Michigan Technological University in Michigan's idyllic upper peninsula.
