Frozen Empire (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798279147380)

History recorded his death. The truth may yet save the world.

In 1929, famed Arctic aviator Carl Ben Eielson disappeared during a rescue mission over Siberia.

History says he died in the crash.

History is wrong.

Captured by Soviet forces, Eielson is pulled into a secret NKVD program investigating something impossible beneath the Siberian ice-a phenomenon capable of defying the known laws of physics.

The Soviets believe it can be studied.

Controlled.

Perhaps even weaponized.

Carl isn't so sure.

When he escapes with knowledge powerful enough to alter the balance of nations, a hunt begins across the frozen Soviet wilderness.

The NKVD wants him back.

Foreign intelligence agencies want what he knows.

And governments already positioning themselves for the next great war begin circling a secret none of them truly understands.

Among those caught in the struggle is Anya Morozova, a brilliant Soviet scientist whose loyalty to her country has never required her to question the people giving the orders.

Until now.

Separated by circumstance and hunted by the same regime, Carl and Anya follow different paths through a country where a wrong word can mean imprisonment and trust can be more dangerous than a bullet.

Carl refuses to surrender the secret to the Soviets.

But increasingly, he realizes he cannot simply hand it to his own government either.

Because whatever lies beneath the ice may be far more dangerous than anyone imagined.

Not because of what it can do.

But because of what men are willing to do to possess it.

As Soviet forces close in and foreign powers enter the hunt, enemies will be forced to cooperate, loyalties will fracture, and Carl and Anya must decide what matters more: country, survival, power-or doing what is right when every side believes the prize belongs to them.

One man is determined to control the phenomenon at any cost.

Carl is becoming equally determined that no one will.

And beneath the Siberian ice, something impossible is waiting.

The question is no longer who will reach it first.

It's what will happen when they do.

Frozen Empire is an alternate-history speculative thriller blending Arctic survival, Soviet espionage, political intrigue, cosmic mystery, slow-burn romance, and the high-stakes adventure of the great serials of the 1930s.
