Little did I know, this decision would mark the beginning of unforeseen events.

My life has been filled with remarkable adventures but this is one I never could have imagined. Through it all, my faith in God was tested, trusting him to guide me through every challenge toward a greater purpose. This book is dedicated to my daughter, who suffered most through this ordeal. About one month before my arrest, she started her senior year of high school, so much fun and excitement laid ahead for her as she was about to finish one chapter in her life and begin another. I've been a single mom and without our bond, her strength, love and support, I'm not sure I would have pulled through as I did.

This is my journal, dripped with bits of sarcasm because, well, that's me; my experience spending 6 months and 12 days in prison in Sint Maarten and the months that followed.
