xThe author, Win Stites, was a flight engineer aboard the PBY flying boat. The character "Gigi" was generated as a symbol and icon of Gigi and her activity in WWII and even today! Her friends are other airplanes "she" palled with and are illustrated in the book. The coloring book was designed and illustrated by the author. Plans are for a second Gigi book to further carry more of the aviation theme of real aircraft in cartoon form!
